Job Description

The Event Sales Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring that revenue goals are achieved or exceeded by proactively prospecting, selling, facilitating, and closing small corporate and social business meeting and event opportunities as well as event execution.  The Event Sales Manager will solicit, negotiate, and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow up, e-mail, direct mail, referrals, prospecting, networking, etc.) to maximize revenues. 

Responsibilities include prepare and execute event sales contracts, event orders, event resumes & BEOs, billing instructions and final review.  The Event Sales Manager will assist in coordinating all functions details with clients and is also the on-site contact, responsible for the smooth execution of all events.  This role will also be responsible for the set up and execution of all meetings, including room setup, detailing and breakdown.

Position will report to VP of Sales and General Manager. 


Job Requirements

 

  • Responsible for all      elements of event planning, including identifying event logistics and      negotiating contracts.
  • Manage and fill hotel’s      events calendar with meetings and events. 
  • Build      and maintain customer relationships
  • Develop meeting/event      packages and promotions to attract new and returning clients and events. 
  • Ability to manage      extensive amounts of information.
  • Excellent written skills      sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication.
  • Excellent presentation      skills
  • Hotel Event Operations      experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with      various hotel departments.
  • Ability to work as a      team but also independently under pressure.
  • Maintain accurate      information in sales management tool (Triple Seat) on all new and ongoing      leads and accounts, including solicitation efforts and all activities up      to date. 
  • Follow proper event      management procedures for event execution to include, but not limited to,      BEO creation, F&B forecasting, resume communication, amenity/VIP      designation and meeting/event space management. 
  • Produce accurate      contracts, banquet/catering event orders and resumes within timeframe set      by hotel responding to all leads and RFPs within 24 hours. 
  • Conduct site      inspections, local sales calls and attend appropriate trade shows and      client events. 
  • Must be willing to work      some weekends/holidays depending on business demands. 
  • Triple Seat experience      preferred.
  • Opera experience a plus.
